Blaze Endpoint Protection

Endpoint protection to stay agile and secure

Blaze Endpoint Protection – Basic & Advanced versions

Blaze Endpoint Protection enables end-end cyber security breach avoidance across a business, ensuring that the potential access points to your company’s business systems are fully protected.

Endpoint protection technology is undergoing its biggest transformation in the past 20 years. This reflects:

  • A shift from client/server architecture to more agile cloud native solutions and services.
  • The need to address the volume of portable, executable file-based attacks, and the shift to fileless attacks, for which traditional methods have become inadequate, including more modern behavioural approaches that are immediately adaptive to detect or block new attack techniques
  • The recognition that prevention alone is not enough; there is a need to more easily harden a broader range of endpoints against attacks that target vulnerabilities and common misconfigurations, and to perform more detailed incident response to resolve alerts.

In response to these and longer-established security challenges, Blaze has introduced Blaze Endpoint Protection, which is based on Bitdefender technology. Offered as a fully managed or co-managed cloud-based service, Blaze Endpoint Protection hardens endpoints to prevent malware and malicious attacks, and provides the investigation and remediation capabilities needed to dynamically respond to security incidents when they evade protection controls.

Bitdefender Technology

Among Bitdefender’s credentials are an enormous installed base of over 500 million endpoints. Many are via OEM technology partnerships, so the company’s name is not as well-known as deserved. Bitdefender OEMs include Microsoft, IBM, FireEye, F-Secure, and BAE Systems (customers include the FBI, the US Department of Justice, and Europol).  In fact, 38% of the world’s security technology vendors integrate Bitdefender’s technology into their offerings, and independent test after test shows that Bitdefender is unmatched in Attack Prevention.

One reason for this exceptionally strong security protection is Bitdefender’s architecture: the 500+ million endpoints in use also act as sensors, feeding back information about threats and behaviours in real time into the company’s GravityZone security platform. Using Machine Learning and 7 patents, GravityZone is a security intelligence hub which relays the latest information about emerging threats in near real-time (3 seconds or better from hub to endpoints). When an attack is rampant, the difference between a sub-3 second response and 30 seconds (the best which competitors can manage) can mean the difference between massive business damage and safety.

Blaze Endpoint Security Standard

Blaze Endpoint Security Standard provides a comprehensive, highly integrated cyber security product.  Functionality includes:

Risk analytics

Reduces the attack surface by discovering and prioritizing risky OS and software misconfigurations and facilitating continuous security posture improvements.

Machine Learning

Machine learning algorithms developed over 10 years predict and accurately identify unknown threats before they are executed.

Cloud threat intelligence

Cloud Signatures are used to identify known threats efficiently.

Exploit defence

Exploits are often involved in major ransomware attacks as they hijack legitimate applications to compromise the system. Bitdefender Advanced Anti-Exploit detects unknown file-based or file-less (memory only) exploits by focusing on the attack techniques and using behavioural technologies instead of signatures of known exploits.

Web content control

Block or restrict user access to potentially malicious websites or use categories and schedules to reduce the attack surface and improve productivity.

Network attack defence

Protects against attackers seeking access to the system by exploiting network vulnerabilities and blocks threats such as Brute Force attacks, Password Stealers, Network Exploits and lateral movements before they can execute.

Web threat protection

Essential in blocking web-borne attacks, web filtering lets admins block known phishing or other malicious websites and scan unknown URLs, including HTTPS, to identify potential threats.

Firewall

Blocks potentially malicious applications that want to connect to the Internet.

Device control

Allows admins to block or restrict access to certain attachable devices, such as USBs, mitigating the risks of malware being introduced via these devices.

Process Inspection

Continuously monitors running process for signs of malicious behaviour and can block, based on behaviour, advanced attacks that have eluded other prevention layers.

Blaze Endpoint Protection Advanced

For organisations where the risk of being targeted is high, or where a data breach would be very damaging. Includes all the features of the Standard product. An advanced security layer provides protection against fileless attacks, script-based attacks, custom malware, targeted attacks, potentially unwanted applications, and advanced ransomware while delivering threat context and visibility.  This includes:

HyperDetect™ (Tunable Machine Learning)

Acts as a defence layer in the pre-execution phase, using local machine learning models and advanced heuristics trained to spot hacking tools, exploits and malware obfuscation techniques to block sophisticated threats before execution. It also detects delivery techniques and sites that host exploit kits and blocks suspicious web traffic. The aggressiveness of the defence can be adjusted with a unique combination of blocking and visibility of threats.

Sandbox analyser

This powerful layer of protection against advanced threats analyses suspicious files in depth, detonates payloads in a contained virtual environment hosted by Bitdefender, analyses their behaviour and reports malicious intent.

The Sandbox Analyzer automatically submits suspicious files for analysis. Malicious files are automatically blocked on all systems enterprise-wide immediately. An automatic submission function allows enterprise security administrators (at Blaze) to choose monitor or block mode, which prevents access to a file until a verdict is received. Administrators can also manually submit files for analysis.

Additional Options

In addition to either Blaze Endpoint Security Standard or Advanced products, protection can be enhanced with the following additional modules:

Full disk encryption

Encrypts disks and provides central key management and recovery, leveraging native technologies (FileVault on Mac, BitLocker on WIN) for optimum performance.

Security for Virtualized environments

Comprehensive VS/VDI protection, delivering a fully-fledged, layered security solution that includes firewall, continuous process monitoring, content and device control. Delivers optimized VM protection on any hypervisor as well as physical machines and machines in AWS or other public clouds.

Security for AWS

Designed for the Amazon cloud infrastructure and integrated with Bitdefender GravityZone. Security for AWS is built for virtualization and scales to your size and needs for optimal return on investment. Let the experts handle security and stay compliant without hassle!
