Cloud Services from Blaze
Supporting the move by many customers to cloud-based infrastructure and cloud services, Blaze supplies a broad range of cloud computing offerings. Many of these are underpinned by our own Blaze Private Core Network. Cloud computing increases efficiency, flexibility, reliability, and helps improve cash flow as well as many other benefits detailed below.
Blaze Networks assists with cloud computing in a number of ways. Firstly, for a company who wishes to move workload off its own on-premise servers onto a hosted cloud-based infrastructure we offer Blaze Cloud.
Many organisations will, however, choose to use AZURE, AWS, or Equinix for their cloud hosting or colocation services. Blaze has therefore established direct (and resilient) network links to each of these leading environments (avoiding passing any network traffic over the public internet). We provide the flexibility to include any combination of these environments in your own Private SD-WAN, thereby ensuring a very high level of security across your network as well as delivering operational flexibility.
For companies who wish to use the Azure platform, Blaze can act as your service provider – offering Azure hosting packages and the appropriate network connections.
Alongside these cloud hosting approaches; most organisations will also use Software as a Service (SaaS) applications in the Cloud. The most common of these is Microsoft 365 Business (previously known as Office 365). Again, Blaze is able to provide you with Microsoft 365 Business licences to cover your licencing for Office application suite, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams licences and more – and the appropriate network connections.
The range of cloud-based services provided by Blaze Networks includes the following:
Cloud’s Advantages over On-Premises
Productivity
If you’re using cloud based software, you can use the internet to access that system whenever and wherever you are. You just need an internet connection and the ability to log into the system via a web browser. You can be on a desktop computer, phone, or PC. You can be at the office, home, or at the airport. It doesn’t matter, as long as you’ve got WiFi.
Flexibility
Using Cloud services enables you to easily scale the IT resources you use to changes in the workload – this is particularly useful for dealing with unexpected spikes in demand or high-growth environments. Resources can be changed in a matter of minutes and can be flexed up and down based on demand for your business. This level of agility can give businesses a real advantage over competitors and is one of the top drivers for cloud adoption.
As a business, with cloud computing, you’re responsible for maintaining whatever applications you run on the 3rd party servers (Azure, AWS, EQUINIX, etc). The hosting company maintains the physical servers and operating system reducing the overhead of managing your business’ computing infrastructure, as well as saving on capital expenditure, power and cooling costs.
Security
Professionally managed Cloud services (as with Azure, AWS, and EQUINIX, and Blaze) are hosted in Enterprise-grade data centres. These are highly protected environments, with very high levels of physical and cyber security.
For example, with Azure, Blaze and Microsoft utilise intrusion detection, denial-of-service (DDOS) attack prevention, regular penetration testing and data analytics in the datacentres to help mitigate threats to the Azure platform. The centres themselves are protected against the full range of risks ranging from physical intrusion, fire, network cable cutting, power problems, and environmental (cooling breakdown), amongst many others. Few businesses choose to invest in maintaining similar on-premises environments for their IT resources.
From a security certification and compliance perspective, Blaze Networks and Microsoft are also PCI DSS compliant and adhere to strict security procedures. Microsoft Azure has more certifications than any other cloud provider including ISO, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC and many others.
Disaster Recovery
Disaster recovery is important for all business sizes. Unfortunately appropriate solutions can be cost prohibitive particularly for small to medium size businesses. By utilising Cloud services, all businesses can benefit from leading levels of redundancy without the large capital expenditure.
For example, Microsoft 365 maintains copies of your data on multiple disks and multiple servers – as well as over multiple geographically dispersed datacentres to make sure the service remains online regardless of disk, server or even entire datacentre regions being offline. Microsoft has invested $15 Billion in a global datacentre infrastructure used for Azure, Office 365 and other services. Blaze’s Hosted Server Infrastructure utilises the same levels of redundancy and utilising Azure for datacentre failover. Coupled with our expertise in networks, you can be sure Blaze can provide the cloud solution for you.
