Blaze Vault Backup for Microsoft 365 provides ransomware protection for your entire Microsoft 365 environment. Customers have the security of immutable, validated backups of Microsoft 365 and access to rapid restoration of data and services in the event of incidents or errors corrupting or deleting data.

A Central Focus for Cyberattack

A company’s Microsoft 365 services are a focus for cyber attacks. Whether malware is carried through email phishing, compromised Office documents, Teams or messaging, the Microsoft 365 environment has a large attack surface and is a common entry point for cybercriminals, with Microsoft 365 data being a prime target in itself.

While preventative measures such as Endpoint Protection, Managed Endpoint Detection & Response, and Email threat and spam filtering are important defences, no system is impenetrable.
For most companies, restoration of backups remains the last line of defence for business continuity with backup and recovery being a key focus of the business’ disaster recovery plan. Whatever Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) apply to your company’s different data sets (within your disaster recovery strategy), for backup and recovery to be effective, backups must be:

• capable of being restored to alternative systems and sites, and
• themselves protected from corruption or infection once the backup is created (immutable).

This last factor is particularly important with the threat posed by Ransomware and its close cousin, Wiperware.

Ransomware attacks which preventing access to corporate data, usually by it being encrypted by the cybercriminals, and/or the destruction of the data by Wiperware – are particularly challenging forms of cyberattack.
In a best-case scenario the company can swiftly replace encrypted data with an up-to-date backup copy that has been scanned and determined virus free.
Speed of recovery to the point of having current data accessible to the company’s operations is therefore crucial.

Blaze Vault Backup for Microsoft 365 is designed to form a key element within a company’s disaster recovery strategy. The service has been designed with rapid restore in mind, and by using Veeam technology (as with our main Blaze Vault service) backup versions are stored in an immutable form and your data is actively screened for threats and malicious behaviour before it is restored.

With immutable backups, once the data is written to our Blaze Vault Microsoft 365 Backup Storage platform, it cannot be modified, and is read only. Should any potential future cyberattack attempt to erase backup data, it would be thwarted.

• Backup policy tiering: Deliver the appropriate level of protection to different data sets by setting up multiple backup policies with different schedules (from as little as every 5 minutes).
• Retention policies: Highly flexible policies can be set, including for individual items or snapshots of objects, with retention periods of up to 25 years.
• Master the 3-2-1 Rule: Disaster Recovery backups are kept on separate secondary storage in Blaze Cloud to eliminate Microsoft cloud dependency and increase resilience.
• Data Sovereignty: All Blaze Vault data is stored in the UK.

Usage-based Pricing
